Small airplane makes emergency landing near Hall
HALL – Ranchers get things landing in the pasture all the time, they just usually aren’t airplanes. The Granite County Sheriff’s Department received a call at 5:05 p.m. about a small aircraft needing to make an emergency landing. Air Traffic Control in Salt Lake City, Utah notified the local authorities that the aircraft would likely make a crash landing 2-3 miles short of the runway in Philipsburg. FWP program helps keep yard animals safe
HELENA – With bears and other predators on the hunt for food, the Montana Department of Fish, Wildlife and Parks (FWP) has a program that can help residents protect their smaller animals. UPDATE: Grizzly LP out of area for now
DRUMMOND – Grizzly LP has apparently moved out of the Drummond area. FWP Game Warden Eli Hampson confirmed Wednesday that the grizzly bear named LP has been tracked moving north east away from Drummond. One of his fellow game wardens picked up the trap that had been set if he had returned. At approximately 11:21 p.m. April 18 Grizzly LP found its way into Edward’s Gulch and ate the chickens on the Owen's property. It was caught on a game camera near the property of Keith Jess


UPDATE: Grizzly revisits Gulch, FWP sets trap
DRUMMOND – After cleaning out a hen house last weekend, a grizzly has made return visits to Edwards Gulch just north of Drummond. Grizzly LP, named as such by the FWP because of where the collared bear was first captured near Gold Creek, is believed to have come back to the gulch area this past week and knocked over a game target thinking it was an actual deer. School, Community Garden project starting in Drummond
DRUMMOND – A new effort is growing in Drummond and everyone can be part of it. Maretta McGowan, Lauren Dunn and a small group of workers are preparing to start a garden project that will benefit both Drummond Schools and the surrounding communities including Hall. The group will begin with a gardening class Thursday afternoon focusing on seed starting, grasshopper bait and nematodes to get the project and local gardens off on the right foot. Grizzly raids hen house in Edward’s Gulch
DRUMMOND – Sometime Sunday night into Monday morning, a grizzly bear found its way into Edward’s Gulch and served itself up a chicken dinner. The bear was in the gulch around 11:30 p.m. Sunday night, being caught on a game camera near the property of Keith Jesse.
