Lady Prospectors sweep Lady Lynx in home match

PHILIPSBURG – It was a great way to hit the road as Granite beat Lincoln 3-0 before heading out on a two-week road trip.

“Just being a little bit more focused and consistent,” said GHS Head Coach Kaley Hansen of her team’s objectives for the match. “And not giving up on that third set, which I was very proud of because they didn’t. I gave them some incentive for that, which was a possible ‘no practice’ for Friday.”

The Lady Prospectors were in control of the match from the start, running out to leads and holding them throughout.

And while the Lady Lynx did lose in straight sets, they did manage a trip to Philipsburg’s Sweet Palace by leaving a half-hour early for the match.

Addi Lilyquist and Montannah Piar were the top hitters with six kills and one block each. Ramsey Smith also had a block and a team high 10 digs while Allison Benson led with five service aces.

Granite now heads off to face Sheridan Thursday on the road before going back there Saturday for a tournament.
