Drummond Kiwanis Club: "We're Back for 2021!"

(DRUMMOND) – We’re back!

The Kiwanis Club of Drummond, Montana announced today (March 15, 2021) that they will be holding their 80th Annual Drummond Kiwanis PRCA Rodeo this year. The event is scheduled for July 11, 2021 at the American Legion Rodeo Grounds in Drummond. The first event will burst from the gates at 2 p.m.

Complete information on the 2021 Drummond Kiwanis PRCA Rodeo can be found at www.drummondrodeo.com or on the club’s Facebook page.

The 79th Rodeo, like many events last year, was cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

“The annual Drummond Kiwanis PRCA Rodeo is a Granite County tradition,” said Butch Friede, event chairman. “We have one of the best rodeos in western Montana and it is a vital part of the economy to Drummond and the entire county. We missed last year due to this pandemic, but it appears we’re getting a handle on this thing and it’ll be good to get back it this July.”

Now, with federal and state agencies vaccinating millions of Americans daily, and with Montana Governor Greg Gianforte stating that all Montanans will be able to get the vaccine starting April 1, the Drummond Kiwanis Club is confident that those attending and participating in the event will be safe.

The annual Drummond Kiwanis PRCA Rodeo is the highlight of the year in northern Granite County; drawing thousands of visitors to watch some of the best competition that professional rodeo has to offer.

In addition to the main event, the city of Drummond also hosts several other events that visitors will not want to miss. These include a Pancake Breakfast by the Valley Fire District, the morning Slack competition and the Rodeo Parade down Front Street at high noon.

The club uses the proceeds from each year’s event to fund a variety of community programs that benefit children and families in Drummond and the Granite County area. These programs include the Dolly Parton Imagination Library, Operation Santa, and a variety of scholarships.

The club is also currently working on the development of a park located just west of the American Legion Rodeo Grounds that straddles Montana Highway 1. The projected offerings of the park include walking trails, fishing access, Blue Heron observation stations and a fitness trail.
