Yakos twins run third, fourth at Hamilton Complex
HAMILTON – The Drummond Cross Country Team shot out of the gate Saturday morning with a solid showing at the Hamilton Complex Cross Race in Hamilton.
Sophomores Maddie and Gracie Yakos had the best finish of any Trojan runner on the day, placing third and fourth in times of 21:29.3 and 22:03.89, respectively. The two competed in a 45 runner field.
On the boy’s side it was Samuel Bryant leading the way with a time of 19:13.88 that earned him a 12th place finish the field of 55. Finishing behind him were teammates Scott Parke in 18th (19:57.00), Ezra Bolotsky in 19th (20:00.97) and Jonathan Pfendler in 31st (21:40.67).
"All six Drummond Cross Country runners ran great today,” said Head Coach Darcy Schindler. “They all qualified for the State meet with their times."
Drummond will run in a pair of meets next week. On Friday they head to Jensen Park in Twin Bridges before heading to Missoula and the Mt. West Classic at the University of Montana Golf Course.
