Seeley sweeps Lady Trojans

DRUMMOND – In a battle of teams with just a single loss, Drummond fell to the second tier with a straight set loss to Seeley Swan, 25-15, 25-15, 25-10.

“I'm disappointed we didn't play to our full potential,” said DHS first-year Head Coach Paige Fickler. “With the excitement of homecoming, everyone's minds were wrapped up in a million other things, myself included.

“None the less, the girls gained experience and if anything this loss will make the team more mentally tough. While this isn't the outcome we had hoped for, we will continue to get better as we have all season.”

It was a game marked more by mistakes then anything in the opener, with neither team really warming up to a stellar performance. But Seeley finally found a way to get itself in sync while the Lady Trojans never could find the beat.

Holly Hauptman finished with seven of Drummond’s 10 total kills with Jessie Struna doling out five assists. Liz Perry led the change in the back court with a team best 11 digs.

The Lady Trojans will get a week to try and find their rhythm before heading to Valley Christian October 2.
