Lady Trojans plunder Lady Pirates in tourney opener

FRENCHTOWN - It didn't tale long fir the Drummond Lady Trojans to get control of the game in their District 13C opener Thursday night, beTing Victor 55-25. Drummond established a six-point lead after the first quarter, but faltered slightly in the second as the Lady Pirates outscored them 10-8. Thus was due in large part to the Lady Trojan post players getting into foul trouble. But when the third period opened Drummond shut the door for good with 17-4 run that sealed the deal and advanced them to the next round. Holly Hauptman led all scorers in the game with 13. A host of her teammates gave her added support, led by Kimber Parsons with nine points and Bailey Parke and Jesse Struna chipping in eight each. The Lady Trojans now advance to play county rival Granite at 5 p.m. tomorrow in the Winner's Bracket semifinal.
