Drummond teams sweep St. Regis for second time Saturday


ST. REGIS – Six weeks time made little difference in the outcome as the Drummond Boys and Girls basketball teams rolled past St. Regis Saturday on the road. The Trojan teams had each won decisively over the Tigers in the opening game of the Tip Off Tournament in Ronan December 4.

 

Boys Varsity

Drummond 62, St. Regis 38

The Trojans took a seven-point first-quarter lead and ballooned it to 17 by halftime as they pulled away for the win. Levi Parson’s squad is now 8-1 on the year, with their only loss coming to Class B Powell County.

Senior Chase Goldade led a balanced scoring field with 16, as six of his teammates all finished scoring between six and none points each.

Varsity Girls

Drummond 59, St. Regis 46

The Lady Trojans started fats and held off Tiger rallies in the second and fourth periods to claim the 13-point margin of victory. The locals are now 8-2 on the year.

Sophomore Bailey Parke dialed long distance to lead the Drummond scoring, hitting four three pointers for 12 points. Liz Perry and Lexi Nelson were close behind with 11 and 10 points, respectively.

Drummond 33, St. Regis 6

Brook Hicks led Drummond with 15 points and Kimber Parsons added nine as the Lady Trojan JV led the night off with decisive victory.
