Drummond boys, girls fall from Western Division tourney
BUTTE – In a pair of consolation bracket games early Friday, Drummond High School had both its boys and girls teams end their season with elimination from the Western Division tournament.
The Lady Trojans were bumped from play in their Consolation Bracket in a 42-35 loss to the Blackhawks of Seeley-Swan.
Drummond suffered from a poor shooting day, getting outscored in each of the first three quarters to trail 29-19. They righted their ship in the fourth to outscore the opposition 16-13, but it was too little too late.
“The girls played hard today,: said Lady Trojan Head Coach Nate Bignell. “Our shots were not falling, but we played great defense.
“The girls had a great season and I'm very proud how they played this season.”
In her final game as a Lady Trojan, Sophia de Santiago led the locals with 14 points and was the game’s only double-figure scorer. Also playing in their final; game wearing the blue and white were seniors Sara Kielley (4 pts), Donna Seekell and Shilo Anderson.

The Trojans never seemed to get in full sync Friday morning, losing to the Tigers and ending their season.
Darby took a 12-5 lead after one period, but the Trojans battled back play them even in the second 14-14. But coming out of halftime behind 26-19, Drummond was unable to get into a rhythm offensively and scored just nine points through the remainder of the contest.
Senior Jonah Parke had 11 points in his game as a Trojan, with fellow graduates Luke Holland adding six, Riley Allen five and Damian Pool 3.
