GIRLS: Drummond second, Granite third in District 12C tourney
DILLON – The Lady Trojans fell to the top-seeded Ennis Mustangs Saturday in the finale of the District 12C Tournament, but will advance to the Western Division Tournament next week in Butte.
The Granite Lady Prospectors took third, and because they had played Drummond earlier in the tournament, cannot force a challenge game Monday.
Ennis 44, Drummond 26
Ennis jumped out to a 21-10 lead after one period and held on the rest of the way to secure its third straight win of the season over the Lady Trojans. Drummond struggled offensively in the middle periods before again finding their rhythm and closing the game out strong.
“We didn't play our best but we are on to the next play and are looking forward to this next week,” said Drummond Head Coach Nate Bignell after the loss.
Junior Rylee Hilmo led the Lady Trojans in scoring with nine points with sophomore Sydney Phillips adding six.
