District volleyball bracket set for Granite, Drummond

GRANITE COUNTY – The Montana High School Association (MHSA) has set the bracket for the District 12C Volleyball Tournament, with the Lady Trojans and Lady Prospectors set to start play Wednesday.

Granite finished district play with an 8-4 mark and as the third seed in the tourney. Their only losses came at the hands of No. 1 Ennis and No. 2 Twin Bridges.

“Tournament is always fun,” said Lady Prospector Head Coach Jennifer Graham. “It will be interesting this year at Manhattan Christian and the dual tournament. The girls and I are hoping everyone makes the trek over to support us.”

Drummond goes in at No. 4 at 7-5. Like their county rivals, the Lady Trojans fell twice to Ennis, but managed a split with Twin Bridges by beating the Falcons in their second matchup of the season October 13. Drummond’s other two losses came at the hands of Granite.

“I am excited to see what the girls will accomplish in this tournament,” said Drummond Head Coach Shona Bradshaw. “The team is ready to play!

Granite draws Harrison-Willow Creek in the first round, a game to be played at 3 p.m. They will face the winner of No. 2 Twin Bridges vs No. 7 Lima Thursday at 12:30 if they win. Drummond takes on No. 5 Sheridan and would face No. 1 Ennis Wednesday at 11 a.m. if they are victorious.

All matches are being played at Manhattan Christian near Bozeman.
