The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the Federal Communications Commission are going to be testing the nationwide Emergency Alert System on Thursday afternoon.
A similar system is used by the Granite County Sheriff's Department. RAVE is a system that local law enforcement and first responders may use in case of large-scale emergency that can send text messages to phones, tablets and other electronic devices with the county.
