VFD, Sheriff respond to vehicle Fire in Drummond

DRUMMOND - The Valley Fire District and the Granite County Sheriff's Department responded to a vehicle fire on West Front Street Wednesday morning.

The vehicle, a pickup truck hauling a horse trailer, was eastbound on I-90 when the vehicle started smoking and eventually burst into flames. The driver pulled off the highway into Drummond and came to a stop in front of the Drummond Motel where it became fully engulfed. The driver and her son exited the vehicle while locals helped detach the trailer and remove it from the vehicle.

There were no apparent injuries.

It was estimated that the blaze may have been caused by a faulty center bearing that eventually ignited fuel in the tank.

Members of Valley Fire helped put the blaze out.
