Trojan boys survive late Blackhawk run, Girls roll over Seeley

SEELEY LAKE – It was another set of victories for the Drummond basketball teams Friday, with the boys needing a fourth-quarter defensive stand to secure the victory.

“It was a tough fought game,” said DHS Head Coach Levi Parsons. “We were a little out of balance; maybe even a little tired. The effort was there but their bodies weren't responding. But we had some balanced scoring and some key defensive stops and we were able to secure an important win!”

Drummond (4-0 in D13C), held a four-point lead at halftime that they extended to 40-29 after the end of the third period. But the host Blackhawks weren’t about to let the Trojans drive home in the snow without a battle. They rallied to within four points in the final stanza but ultimately won it at the free throw line where they went 10-for-16 over the final eight minutes.

Brody Rasor led the fourth-quarter charity effort going 5-for-6 and finishing with 14 points. Colt Parsons was Drummond’s top scorer with 17 with center Trey Phillips adding 15 and seven rebounds.

The Trojans moved to play Lincoln Saturday in a pair of varsity games.
