Lady Trojans sweep Lincoln to remain unbeaten

DRUMMOND – Down one of their big hitters, the Lady Trojans easily handled Lincoln Tuesday night in Drummond, 25-8, 25-12, 25-17.

Drummond is now 4-0 in District 13C play and will face Victor on the road Thursday.

After cruising to pair of easy wins in the first two sets, the Lady Trojans hit a lull in the third as Lincoln played with them to an 11-11 tie. But a quick-five point ruin put the locals ahead to stay.

“We made some adjustments tonight without Holly in the lineup,” said DHS Head Coach Paige Fickler, “but we didn’t really talk about ball distribution. Of course we’re not going to keep setti9ng someone if their off, but we have so many strong hitters that Jesse (Struna) had a lot of options.”

Struna had 16 assists, a kill and two aces on the night to lead the Lady Trojans. Delaney Wagner and Liz Perry each had six kills, with Perry also notching four aces. Bailey Parke and Paytn Rasor was tops in digs with six and five, respectively.

Struna was named the Kiko's Mexican Restaurant Player of the Game for her efforts.

Drummond will take to the road Thursday to face Victor.
