Lady Trojans end season with divisional loss to Superior

BUTTE – The Drummond Lady Trojans were outgunned in the second period by Superior on their way to a season-ending loss 51-34 in the quarterfinals of the Class C Western Division Basketball Tournament at the Maroon Activities Center (MAC) Friday afternoon.

Trailing 9-8 after one quarter, the Lady Bobcats ran wild in the second using a press to create turnovers and score in transition. “Yeah, I’m proud of these girls,” said a reflective DHS Head Coach Nate Bignell after the defeat. “Every step of the way … they fought every moment and I enjoy coaching them.

And when asked if he’d be back to guide that team next year, Bignell’s reply was, “We’ll see if they take me.”
