MANHATTAN CHRISTIAN – The Granite Girls Volleyball Team went 1-1 Thursday on the opening day of the Divisional Volleyball Tournament at Manhattan Christian.

The Lady Prospectors opened the event by beating Clark Fork in five games, 25-17, 25-18, 21-25, 26-24, 15-11.

Haddie Tallon led the locals in kills with 10 while Shelby Struna had 17 assists. Asha Comings was the leader in Digs (15) and aces (4) and Reece Pitcher was tops in blocks with five.

In the second round Granite was topped by Gardiner 25-13, 25-15, 25-19. The loss sent them into the consolation bracket for Friday’s play.

Struna was the team leader in kills (4) and assists (8), while Radtke notched seven digs and four aces. Amelia Hill led in blocks with three.

“Divisional tournament is great volleyball. The girls got a solid win earlier in the day. They played like a team,” said GHS Head Coach Jennifer Graham of their win over Clark Fork. “Against Gardiner it was a little too late. They started playing with confidence and as a team but late in the game.

“Tomorrow is a new day with new opponents so we look forward to that.”
