Lady Prospectors keep rolling with sweep of Victor
PHILIPSBURG – The Granite Lady Prospectors celebrated Homecoming with a three-game victory over the visiting Lady Pirates of Victor Tuesday night.
Granite won the first two sets easily 25-11 and 25-8 before pausing to reveal the 2024 Homecoming King & Queen in Tavho Lattin and Addison Spehar. They then picked up where they left off, winning set three 25-8 to secure the sweep.
The Lady Prospectors extended their record to 7-0 in district play, giving them a one-game cushion in the standings and the tie break over the other top teams that might challenge them.
Spehar, who finished with three kills and three aces on the night of her coronation, looked forward to what she and her teammates would need to do going forward on the back half of their schedule.
“We just need to keep playing good, pushing through, and not playing down to the level of our opponents,” said the senior hitter. “We want to get in some good practice and games and we know there will be good teams at the tournaments.”
Granite, along with county rival Drummond, will take part in the Manhattan Christian Tournament this weekend in Manhattan.
