Lady Prospectors falter in battle with No. 1 Seeley


SEELEY LAKE – Granite’s boys and girls basketball teams hit a brick wall Saturday, losing games to their Seeley Swan counterparts.

 

Girls Varsity

Seeley Swan 63, Granite 46

The Lady Prospectors could only watch as Seeley used a 23-7 second quarter run to establish a lead they would never relinquish.

The loss leaves Granite firmly in second place at 9-2 with one game remaining against Victor this week. The Lady Blackhawks have finished their District 13 schedule with a perfect 12-0 mark and will get a first-round bye in the postseaso0nj tournament that starts next week in Frenchtown.

Reece Pitcher led the Lady Prospectors with 15 points, with Asha Comings adding 12 and Rachel Ward nine.

The Granite Prospectors continues to play teams close Saturday, falling to the Blackhawks in Seeley Lake by seven points.

The Prospectors can guarantee themselves a sixth place finish ahead of Lincoln Tuesday by earning a victory over Victor. The winless Lynx still have Drummond and Victor remaining on their schedule.

Hayden Mason led Granite with 17 points.
