Lady Prospectors fall to Twin Bridges in divisional opener
FRENCHTOWN - For three quarters the Granite Girls basketball team looked nothing like it normal selves. Poor passing combined with shots that just couldn't seem to find the bottom of the net led to a 51-33 loss to Twin Bridges in their opening game of the Girls Western Division opener Thursday in Frenchtown.
Despite the passing woes, Granite stayed close through one period to trail 8-6 heading into the second quarter.
But the middles two stanzas were unkind to the locals as the Lady Falcons outscored Granite 24-13 to establish a lead they would never relinquish.
The Lady Prospectors tried to rally in the fourth, led by junior Rachel Ward who scored nine of her team high 13 points in the period.
Twin had nine of its 10 rostered players find their way into the scorebook.
