Lady Prospectors best Lincoln in four

LINCOLN – The Lynx tried to stage a late-match comeback, but the Granite Lady Prospectors held them off to claim its first win on the road this year. The locals won the match 25-14, 25-16, 24-26, 25-19.

“As always, correct our mistakes, focus on what we can control and be mentally disciplined,” GHS Head Coach Jennifer Graham said after the match. “Lincoln is always fun to play because they are a hard working team that plays with a lot of spirit and passion.”

Leading 2-0, the Lynx managed to stage a third game win in overtime. But Granite (2-1) re-centered itself and got the job done in Game 4 to secure the win.

Amelia Hill led the way at the net with nine of the Lady Prospectors’ 30 kills, while Lucia Lee added five blocks, seven digs and 14 assists. Rachel Ward contributed seven aces from the service line.

Granite will take a week off before they travel top Darby Sept. 10 to play the Tigers.
