Granite girls keep it perfect with dominating win over Darby

PHILIPSBURG – The Lady Prospectors are on a roll.

Granite improved to a perfect 3-0 on the year Saturday night with a 54-25 win over the visiting Tigers.

“Just a little amped up,” said GHS Head Coach Brandon Piazolla of his team’s slow start in the first quarter. “We had some good looks trying to get the ball in down low and we overthrew the girls, but the girls settled in and did a good job.”

While the passes weren’t initially connecting, they were headed in the right place. And when they finally did start connecting Darby had no answer to stop the scoring.

Asha Comings led everyone in the game with 20 points, being fed most of the night by point guard Rachel Ward who also scored 13 herself.

Granite will host Clark Fork Tuesday before taking on the Lady Trojans in Drummond Friday.
