Granite gains sweep at Darby to remain unbeaten

DARBY – The Lady Prospectors stayed perfect in district play Thursday, beating the host Darby Tigers 25-23, 25-9, 25-23.

Granite (4-0) had to battle in the first and last games of the night to maintain their perfect standing in 2021.

“We had some ups and downs tonight, but ultimately came through and played our game,” said senior Reece Pitcher. “I’m happy with the result.”

Pitcher led the offense with 10 kills and six service aces for the Lady Prospectors. Lucia Lee had 6.5 blocks, Annabelle Locke 14 digs and Rachel Ward dished out 12 assists.

“The girls showed up tonight,” said GHS Head Coach Kaley Hansen. “They took control from the start, played like a team and did what they needed to do.”

In the JV match, Granite swept Victor in three straight sets.

The Lady Prospector varsity is off to the Arlee Tournament Saturday.
