Granite Boys, Girls keep rollin’ at White Sulphur Springs
WHITE SULPHUR SPRINGS – The Granite High School basketball teams collected wins on the road Thursday in games that were setup in less than 24 hours. The locals had lost games against Drummond when the Trojans had to cancel due to Covid-19 quarantines.

BOYS
Granite 42, White Sulphur Springs 23
The Prospectors jumped out to a 17-4 first quarter lead and never looked back, despite a slow second quarter that saw the Hornets outscore the locals 5-2.
“I got a call just before practice yesterday and 23 hours later we are playing basketball in White Sulphur Springs,” said GHS Head Coach Dustin Keltner. “The kids played great defensively again tonight. We overcame a bad shooting night with great team defense and effort.”
Mason Palen led the Prospectors with 12 points. Kade Cutler (11) and Andrew Tallon (10) also cracked double figures.
The victory marked the 100th for Keltner in his eight-year tenure with the Granite Boys Basketball Program.
“This is and always will be about the kids. I had no idea they were doing it,” Keltner added. “These kids and their families are amazing.”
Granite will face Seeley Swan in Philipsburg Saturday night. That game will be broadcast on the NFHS Network.

WHITE SULPHUR SPRINGS – It took the Lady Prospectors two periods to get their offense in sync, but once they did they outscored the host Hornets 43-22 on their way to a 22-point victory.
Rachel Ward led all scorers in the game with 20, with Reece Pitcher adding 13 and Asha Comings 17.
Granite will face Seeley Swan in Philipsburg Saturday night. That game will be simulcast on the NFHS Network and with audio only on the Facebook page of the Flint Creek Courier.
