Area teams fared well over the last few days, led by a dramatic come from behind won by Drummond Friday night in Victor.

Drummond def. Victor, 18-25, 18-25, 25-11, 25-8, 15-7 (Friday)

In a night that started slowly for the Lady Trojans, the locals rallied to win the final three sets to get back on the winning track.

Juniors Jesse Struna and Holly Hauptman led the attack in the comeback. Struna posted team bests in service aces (11) and assists (12) while Hauptman led in kills (11) and blocks (2). Hauptman, Bailey Parke and Macy Williams combined for 36 of the team’s 61 digs, each collecting 12.

Drummond will be back on the road Saturday playing a non-district match at Charlo.

The Lady Prospectors stayed on a roll Wednesday as they blanked Darby for a 3-0 sweep.

Seniors Asha Comings and Reece Pitcher led the attack, each posting nine kills and three service aces each. Pitcher also led in blocks, collecting four of Granite’s team total of six.

Ella Tallon had 12 assists followed close by Rachel Ward with 11, while Comings had a team best six digs.

The Lady Prospectors are scheduled to play at Superior Saturday afternoon.
