Fatal car crash reported near Philipsburg

GRANITE COUNTY - The Granite County Sheriff's Department is reporting a vehicle crash earlier this evening. The fatal single car crash occurred near Philipsburg.

At approximately 4:55 P.M. Emergency responders were dispatched to the scene of a single vehicle crash on Upper Rock Creek road near Philipsburg. A Montana woman was thrown from the vehicle and died of her injuries at the scene. Speed appears to be a factor in the crash.  The Granite County Sheriff/Coroner’s Office and the Montana Highway Patrol are continuing to investigate. The name of the victim is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
