Drummond’s defense steps up in win over Darby

DRUMMOND – The Drummond Trojans clamped down on the visiting Tigers from Darby Friday night to earn a 36-27 victory.

“(The) boys played one of the best defensive games I've seen in a long time,” said a satisfied DHS Head Coach Levi Parsons postgame. “It’s really what won us the game tonight. Offensively we struggled to put the ball in the hole and didn't shoot great from the foul line, but the defense was incredible.”

The Trojans edged Darby in every quarter but the fourth, relying on their tough defense to allow just eight points combined in the first and fourth quarters.

Colt Parsons led the way with 12 points for Drummond, with Sam Bryant adding 10.

The Trojans will head to Missoula Saturday night to face the Eagles at Valley Christian.
