Drummond rallies to best Charlo on the road
CHARLO – The Lady Trojans traveled from Drummond to Charlo for a showdown with one of the top teams in the District 13C/14C standings. The two squads were tied in a single loss before the match, but Drummond came away with the win in four sets and climbed to second place.
The Lady Trojans lost the opening set 25-18 before turning things around and winning the last three 25-18, 25-20, and 25-21.
With Granite having beaten the Lady Vikings the night before, Drummond ascends to third with a record of 3-1, a game ahead of Charlo (3-2) and one behind Seeley Swan at 3-0. The Blackhawks have yet to play any of the top seeded teams in the district, including the Lady Vikings, Lady Trojans, Lincoln or Granite.
Anna Kate Sawfer was busy Saturday dishing out 25 assists to her teammates, chief among them Kimber Parsons with eight kills and Remi Cline with seven. Parsons also had five blocks at the net. Brooke Hicks led in defensive digs with 25, followed by Hazel Sawfer with 21. Hazel Sawfer tied CyLeigh Langton in aces with four apiece.
Drummond takes to the road again Tuesday to play Two Eagle River.

“It was a hard-fought battle,” said DHS JV Coach Sabrina Shows. “The team rallied after a tough second-set loss but couldn’t quite pull through in the end.”
Kameron Wetsch led with 12 assists and three aces. Casey James also had three aces. Naomi Perry had five kills and Piper Wetsch added 15 digs.
