Drummond hoopsters drop pair in Twin Bridges


TWIN BRIDGES – The Drummond basketball teams suffered a pair of road losses Friday, each falling to the host Falcons in Twin Bridges.

The Falcons were most inhospitable in the first half of the boys game, starting with a 26-8 run in the first quarter and leading 48-9 at intermission. The young Trojans were unable to get their game in gear on either side of the ball in taking their second loss to Twin Bridges in as many tries.

Cousins Caleb and Ethan Parke led the Trojan scoring with five points each.

Drummond will be on the road again Saturday as they travel to Philipsburg for their second matchup of the year with the Prospectors of Granite High School.

Reece Rigby led the Trojan KJV with five points with Sam Bryant chipping in four.

 

Girls Varsity

Twin Bridges 40, Drummond 31

The Lady Trojans tried to rally in the final stanza, but were unable to catch the host Falcons over the final eight minutes.

Trailing 10-5 after one period, Drummond played with Twin Bridges to a 9-9 tie and still trailed by five at halftime.

Rylee Hilmo and Hannah Bradshaw led the locals in scoring with seven apiece with Sydney Phillips chipping in six.

Jessie Struna had the only basket for the Lady Trojan JV while Liz Perry hit a free throw.
