Drummond drowns Pirates, stay on pace for third in D13
DRUMMOND – Once the Drummond Trojans got their offense in gear, nothing in the arsenal of the Victor Pirates could stop them from plundering the basket. The Trojans used a 25-7 second quarter run to secure a 52-27 win Tuesday night in Drummond.
“(I’m) Pretty happy coming off of quarantine and having just one practice,” said DHS Head Coach Levi Parsons. “We were struggling some yesterday. It’s amazing how long it takes to get to a certain point and how fast it can go away.”
When asked he felt about his team as they prepared for a big game Friday at Darby, Parsons was cautiously optimistic.
“I think so. We just need to get back into running our offense and getting our legs back. We were out-rebounding this team by 20 heading into the fourth quarter and ended up beating them by seven.”
The second quarter surge was part of a first half that put Drummond in the driver seat on its way to the win and was led by 16 points from point guard Caleb Parke. Parke would finish with 18 to lead all scorers while teammate Colt Parsons added 14.
