Drummond downs Darby in final 2020 home match

DRUMMOND – Two days after a tough loss to county rival Granite, the Lady Trojans got back on the winning side of the ledger with a straight set sweep of Darby Thursday night, 25-10, 25-15, 25-16.

“It’s just waking up and playing with confidence is all,” said DHS Head Coach Brooks Phillips of her team as they start preparing for the postseason. “They talk well and they play well together, they just need to be confident and move well when they’re going after the ball and moving their feet. I don’t know that we need to fix anything. We just need to serve well and play with confidence.”

Sydney Phillips was the team leader in kills with seven, followed closely by Hannah Bradshaw with five. Holly Hauptman had four blocks and nine digs, Deana Parke served up five aces and Jesse Struna dished 12 assists.

Drummond will close out the regular season Friday at Victor with JV play starting at 5:30 p.m. The varsity games will be livestreamed on the Victor Booster Facebook page.
