Boys sweep, Girls split in Great Falls




GREAT FALLS – The Drummond basketball teams chose a different path this preseason, heading toward central Montana for their opening tip-off tournament.

 

Girls Varsity

The Lady Trojans drew the Tri-City Lady Titans in their opener, earning an 18-point victory.

Remington Cline led the attack with 19 points and 12 rebounds, followed by Kimber Parsons at 10 points and five steals.

Drummond didn’t fare quite as well in its second ball game, losing to Denton-Geyser-Stanford-Geraldine (DGSG) 59-25. Parsons led in scoring with eight points.

Boys Varsity

The Trojans got off on the right foot with a pair of road wins to start at 2-0.

Seniors Trey Phillips and Scott Parke led the way against Highwood in a 69-30 drubbing of the Mountiners, pouring 21 and 15, respectively. Phillips had eight rebounds in the win while Parke grabbed two boards, three steals and dished three assists.

Against DGSG the Trojans used an 18-8 third period to secure the win and move to 2-0.

Brody Rasor lit it up from all over as he scored 28 points that included seven assists, accounting for 42 of his team’s 67 points. Dalton Suthers added 12 points while Phillips chipped in ni9ine and seven boards.
