After Day 1, Drummond in the hunt for District 13C titles

MISSOULA – The Trojan Men staked themselves to a 31-point lead in the teams standings after Day 1 of the District 13C Track and Field meet, with the Lady Trojans behind Seeley Swan by just 15 points.

Juniors Sam Bryant and Caleb Parke led the Trojans, each posting a pair of blue ribbon victories. Bryant won the 1,600-meter run and the 110m hurdles, also placing second in the 400m. Park claimed wins in the Pole Vault and teamed with Alec Hauptman, Tyler Burden and Colt Parsons to win the 4x100m relay. Parke also competed in the 200m and 400m events.

Drummond has 99 team points and leads Seeley Swan with 68.

On the girls side, the Lady Trojans managed just two wins behind Holly Hauptman (100m hurdles) and Maddie Yakos (Pole Vault) and trail the Blackhawks 102-87.

The Granite Prospector and Lady Prospector teams were also in action. While substantially smaller in number, they still fought hard to earn some substantial finishes.

Asha Comings finished second in the Triple Jump and earned thirds in the High Jump and 200m.

Avery Metesh had the best finish for the Men with a silver medal in the 200m.
