Drummond mainstays come down in favor of renovation

DRUMMOND – The Frosty Freeze, Rustic Express and the nearby apartments on the west end of Front Street in Drummond are now just a memory.

The buildings have been torn over the last week, removing what owner Susan Hale called an eyesore. Hale owns the property with her husband Wayne, and the two have as plans for the property in the future.

The Frosty Freeze had been a Drummond staple since being built in 1960, according to the Montana Cadastral. The single family dwelling, three apartment units and the retail building formerly housing the Rustic Express were all built in 1930.

Susan Hale indicated that the lot will remain empty for the time being.
