Victor’s ‘no show’ turns into Drummond inter-squad

DRUMMOND – The volleyball match slated with Victor High School Saturday was cancelled when the Pirates failed to show for the game.

According to Jessica Anderson, Drummond Athletic Director, Victor had the wrong time for the game. The MOA officials were able to stay for the inter-squad scrimmage, but had another assignment making moving the game not an option. The game will be rescheduled to a later date.

Instead DHS Head Coach Brooks Phillips turned the day into a workout, giving her varsity girls some work against their solid junior varsity counterparts.

“We just tried to use as a good practice,” observed Phillips. “It’s really hard because I don’t want to coach against my own girls.”

Drummond has a busy week ahead as they head toward Homecoming next weekend. They start with a game Tuesday at home against Clark Fork at 6 p.m., followed by Charlo Thursday at 5:30. Then the Lady Trojans round out their homestand Saturday against Seeley Swan amidst the festivities of Homecoming. The latter starts with junior varsity play at 1 p.m.
