ENNIS – The Lady Trojans had their eight-game win streak snapped in Ennis Friday night, dropping a close game to the Mustangs 44-42. Drummond falls to 8-2 on the year.
After taking a five-point lead at the end of the first period, 11-6, Drummond fell behind the host Mustangs at halftime 20-17. The Lady Trojans pulled back within one 31-31 at the end of three, but couldn’t overcome Ennis is the final eight minutes.
“The girls played hard for four quarters,” observed DHS Head Coach Nate Bignell. “It was a good game for us to see what we need to work on. I'm proud of the way they played. We’ve got some work to do and I know the girls are up for the challenge.”
Senior Rylee Hilmo and junior Sydney Phillips led the team in scoring, with Hilmo getting 13 of her game-high 15 points in the second half while Phillips got all of her 11 points in the first two periods.
Drummond will return home next Friday to host Harrison-Willow Creek before going back out on the road Saturday to play at Clark Fork.

Liz Perry had nine points to lead the Lady Trojan JV to the victory, while Paytn Rasor added four and Deanna Parke 2.

Ennis got off to a fast start and never looked back as they handed the Trojans a 15-point loss.
Drummond’s lone freshman Colt Parsons led the team in scoring with 15 points while senior Wyatt Rigby added nine.
