Lady Trojans can’t stop Mustangs in Consolation Final

BUTTE – The Lady Trojans fought tooth and nail, but in the end it wasn’t enough to overcome a string second half effort by the Mustangs. Drummond lost to Ennis 47-40 in the Consolation Finals of the District 12C Tournament held Saturday in Butte at the Maroon Activities Center.

The Lady Trojans held a 7-6 advantage after one period and trailed by the same, 17-16 at the break. But Ennis Head Coach Jordan Overstreet made some adjustments at halftime that spurred his team offensively and outpace Drummond.

Hannah Bradshaw led the locals with 11 points while Sydney Phillips added 10.

A strong performance by junior Sydney Phillips and balanced scoring throughout helped the Lady Trojans claim a Consolation Semifinal win over the Panthers.

Phillips finished with 20 points while Deanna Parke and Jessie Struna each chipped in 11.
