King, Blom shine in rain-shortened Midsummer Night Jam

DRUMMOND – It was a first-ever venture for two civic clubs in the Home of the Bullshippers. And despite the challenge of a mid-July lightning and rain storm that cut the night short, those in attendance were treated some exceptional country music entertainment.

The inaugural Midsummer Night Jam, hosted by the American Legion Gold Star Post 125 and the Kiwanis Club of Drummond, featured two up and coming artists in Levi Blom and John King.

Blom, a native of Butte, opened the night and played for an hour before King took the stage. The Demerest, Georgia native, played for about 40 minutes before the rains came. Coming in light at first, King went full acoustic until the storm went full force and caused an abrupt ending to the night.

Blom has been touring the northwest and recently released a new single “Save Me”, which will be part of his first studio album due out this fall.

King has been building an impressive list of credentials in the country world since the first of the year. He has released three songs since January that have acquired over a million streams in less than a month, with his song “Try Saying Goodbye” amassing over 10 million since its spring debut.

Several local business and civic groups also donated to the event, including the Valley Fire District, Better Than Logs, Parker's Restaurant, The Town of Drummond and Northwestern Energy.
