PHILIPSBURG – The Granite Prospectors earned a pair of big wins over the weekend and placing them firmly into the #3 seed when the District Tournament starts in a few weeks.
Granite led by four at halftime, 25-21, before coming out with a strong third quarter that proved to be the difference in the game.
“The kids did a great job of sharing the basketball tonight,” said GHS Head Coach Dustin Keltner. “We missed a lot of easy baskets in the first half that we finished in the second half. Proud of our kids and proud of our senior; Daniel had an outstanding game.”
Brabender scored a game-high 21 points for the Prospectors, with juniors Kade Cutler and Brian Ward each adding 15. The game marked Ward’s return after an ankle injury that kept him from play. Granite has also been battling the flu bug while playing a slate of tough opponents both in and out of their district.
