Granite rallies to best Blackhawks in Seeley

SEELEY LAKE – The Granite Lady Prospectors allowed the host Blackhawks to claim the first two games of their match Saturday night, but rallied to win the final three and return home with a 14-25, 15-25, 25-18, 25-21, 15-10 victory.

“The girls played with grit tonight and persevered,” said GHS Head Coach Jennifer Graham, whose team improves to 4-1 on the year. “Both Coach (Kaley) Hansen and I are proud of them for correcting their mistakes, adjusting and not giving up.”

Leading the attack in the comeback win was Reece Pitcher at the net with 12 of Granite’s 22 kills and Lucia Lee with 4.5 blocks. Rachel Ward contributed a team best 12 assists and three service aces. Summer Phillips had four defensive digs.

The Lady Prospectors will get a day’s rest before heading back out on the road to play the Eagles of Valley Christian in Missoula Tuesday. They then return home to face the Victor Pirates Thursday in their Homecoming tilt. Games start with JV action at 5:30.
