Granite, Drummond dominate All-District team


GRANITE COUNTY – The 12C All-District Team was announced this week, with Granite County teams landing eight of the 14 available slots.

The Granite Lady Prospectors, who placed second in the postseason tournament and eventually finished play at the division level, had seniors Shelby Struna and Haddie Tallon named to the First Team. Struna finished the year with 124 digs, 173 assists, 77 kills and 37 aces. Tallon’s final stats were 127 digs, 171 assists, 52 kills and 27 aces.

The Drummond Lady Trojans also landed two on the First Team roster in Sydney Phillips and Rylee Hilmo. Hilmo was Drummond’s lone senior in 2019 and finished with 219 Assists, 33 aces, 155 digs and 25 kills.. Phillips was one of three Lady Trojan juniors to gain recognition. She completed the 2019 season with 133 kills, 32 blocks, 123 digs and 41 aces..

Drummond finished the year as the third place team in the district.

Each local program also got two players on the Second Team. Drummond had juniors Hannah Bradshaw and Deana Parke receive recognition while Granite had senior Audrey Radtke and junior Amelia Hill also named.

“I'm really proud of the girls too,” said GHS Head Coach Jennifer Graham. “We had a strong showing and it was recognized by other coaches.

“I think as a county we really need to be proud of the fact we had so many of our young female athletes recognized.”
