Prospectors, Trojans start District 12C Tournament Thursday

GRANITE COUNTY – Drummond and Granite High Schools will be making the long trip to Dillon Thursday to start play in the District 12C Tournament.

In the Girls Bracket, Ennis holds the No. 1 seed and will take the first-round bye in the seven-team format.

The Granite Lady Prospectors, under first-year Head Coach Brandon Piazolla, are seeded No. 2 and will play No. 7 in the first rou8nd at 2 p.m. Thursday afternoon. The Drummond Lady Trojans, under the guidance of first-year Head Coach Nate Bignell, are the No. 3 seed and will take on No. 6 Harrison-Willow Creek immediately after 3:30 p.m. The two teams are in the same half of the bracket and should they both win would play Friday at 5 p.m.

The final first-round game is No. 4 Twin Bridges against No. 5 Sheridan at 6:30 p.m.

In the Boys Bracket, No. 1 Twin Bridges opted to forego the bye and play No. 7 Sheridan in the first round at 11 a.m. That allowed the bye option to slide to the Drummond Trojans. Head Coach Levi Parsons opted to take the bye, allowing his squad an extra day to prepare for their second round match up, which will be against the winner of the No. 3 Granite Prospectors (coached by Dustin Keltner) and No. 6 Lima. Should Granite win that matchup as expected, the two Granite County teams would meet Friday at 3:30 p.m.

The other first-round game is No. 4 Ennis versus No. 5 Harrison-Willow Creek at 12:30 p.m.
