Hill’s 25 leads Lady Prospectors past Harrison-Willow Creek

HARRISON – Sophomore post Amelia Hill took control in the second half, scoring 19 points over the final two periods to lead Granite to a 53-27 win over the Wildcats on the road.

“Our girls play hard every night, and play great team basketball,” said Lady Prospector Head Coach Brandon Piazolla. “Amelia hill scored 25. She has worked hard and improves each and every game. She had the hot hand tonight and our other girls did a great job of getting her the ball.”

Leading 23-9 at the break, the Granite girls fed Hill down low to take advantage of her height and ability in the paint. She finished the game with 25, while teammate Emma Grange added 14.

The games get no easier for the Granite teams. After a week off they will retake the floor Feb. 1 at Ennis before returning home to host Clark Fork.

Granite continued to suffer cold shooting from the field and the line in taking a 43-29 loss at Harrison-Willow Creek.

“The kids played really hard and I am happy with their effort,” said Prospector Head Coach Dustin Keltner. “We couldn't buy a basket. It's been the theme for the last few games. We were the aggressors and got to the line 25 times, but only converted on 13. That was the difference in the game.”

Despite the cold shooting, guard Brian Ward had the hit hand with 17 points from the field, while Kade Cutler added 11. Daniel Brabender’s seven and Bryce Parret’s four rounded out the scorebook for the locals.
