Four local girls earn spots on All-Conference, State teams

GRANITE COUNTY – The Lady Prospectors and Lady Trojans each landed two players on the All-Conference Team for their play during the 2018 volleyball season.

Granite’s two players were senior Sierra Metesh and junior Emma Grange.

Grange finished the year with 252 digs (26 dig errors), 293 assists, 82 kills, 17 attack errors, 14 blocks, 50 aces and just 15 service errors in 180 attempts.

“Emma grange is a hard worker and as a setter has to ensure that she's running offense,” observed Granite Head Coach Jennifer Graham. “She makes minimal errors and is the quarterback of our team.”

Metesh, who was also named to the All-State Team, finished the year with 379 digs (65 dig errors), 22 assists, 38 kills, 55 aces and 25 service errors in 117 attempts. “As a senior Sierra digs deep and works hard at a position that has a lot of pressure,” said Graham. “She is always on the floor and gets a lot of balls up and makes them playable.”

In Drummond, the Lady Trojans landed tow on the All-Conference team as well.

Senior Sara Kielley finished the year with a serving percentage of 88% that included 45 aces. She also added 38 kills, six blocks, 173 assists and 132 digs.

Sophomore Hannah Bradshaw was also tabbed for the team, finishing her year with 103 kills, five blocks, six assists, 89 digs and a service percentage of 92% that included 38 aces.

"Sara is a fantastic volleyball player, she has great hands and was never afraid of getting on the floor or behind a hard hit ball," said Drummond Head Coach Shona Bradshaw. "Hannah is a great volleyball player. She is very consistent in all aspects of her game."
