Local volleyball teams face tough road matches Saturday

SEELEY LAKE – A day after the football played the Blackhawks, the Drummond Lady Trojans rolled into town to battle Seeley Swan in girls volleyball. Unfortunately they left Saturday night with a straight set loss to the host team, 25-12, 25-14, 25-10. Drummond falls to 3-4 on the year.

Hannah Bradshaw had five kills to lead the Lady Trojans while Sydney Phillips chipped in three. Phillips also had four service aces to lead the locals. Rylee Hilmo had five kills and block while Sara Kielley had seven assists.

Drummond gets to play its next two matches at home next week, hosting White Sulphur Tuesday before playing Ennis Saturday for Homecoming.

Granite at Victor Duals

VICTOR – The Granite varsity split its matches Saturday at the Victor Duals tournament. They beat Darby soundly (25-11, 25-14) before falling in a tight match to Plains (25-20, 16-25, 16-18).

“This is a great tourney,” said Lady Prospector Head Coach Jennifer Graham. “All our girls get experience and it's always great to play teams we don't usually see.”

The Granite JV teams won both of their matches against the same opponents.

Granite will be home all next week as well, hosting Twin Bridges Thursday for Homecoming and then the Anaconda JV Saturday.
